Aunt Darla's Visit

Aunt Darla visited us for a few days late last week. We had a great time with her, and she was a lot of help -- I got some extra naps, she cooked lasagna that Aaron could take to work, and she made scones and lemon curd, to name a few things. And we had fun! Yum.... Here she is, holding Georgie.

This is one of the most well-documented visits, because we uploaded pictures from her camera to our computer. For some reason, we don't have many pictures of our visitors on our camera.

On Thursday we went to the Smithsonian American Art Museum -- Georgie's first trip to a museum! (She saw some of the monuments the previous week with the Hobbinses.)

It was really fun going to the museum with Darla and Georgie, and I want to take Georgie back regularly -- she loved looking at the pictures, and being in such a big place with changing light patterns and lots to look at. Her favorite painting (the one she looked at the longest) was like a giant lamaze toy -- lots of contrasting black and white, with some green, red, and yellow:

A couple pictures of her looking at that painting:

The museum had a really nice covered courtyard, which I think might be air-conditioned.

A few more from the museum:

On Saturday, we took Georgie on her longest car ride yet, to Frederick. We stopped a few times for feedings and breaks from the car seat. Here are some pictures from our first stop, along the Potomac (the last 2 actually taken with our camera):

We took a long walk on Saturday night:

Aaron and Darla made some delicious sushi on Saturday night.

It was so nice to see Darla, and we're very happy Georgie got to meet her! We just wish she could have stayed longer. We love you, Darla.

Now Georgie needs to meet Grandpa Dale, the Arizona Seiferts, Uncle Steve, Aunt Krystal, and our friends!
