A big 10 days

Georgie has had a big and busy 10 days. First my whole family came to visit and then Aunt Darla came. I'll let Nikki write about Darla's visit but I wanted to first summarize my family's time here. (It turns out that the more you do, the less time you have to blog about it. Ironic.)

For the first few days my entire family was here. Mom (Nana), Dad (Grandpapa), and Uncle Adam came from Texas and Uncle Kevin came from Olympia, Wash. We spent our first day just relaxing and letting everyone get a chance to get to know Georgie. I think Grandpapa won the baby-hogging award.

Monday my dad, brothers, and I went to Baltimore to see the Orioles play and to have some great beer at The Wharf Rat.

Tuesday we all went down to the Mall to see the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Memorial wall. We had lunch at Teaism then split up. We met later at Dogfish Head Alehouse in Falls Church. We toasted Kevin's birthday with a bottle of Fort raspberry ale.

Wednesday we all went over to some family friends' house for a fajita dinner. Kevin had left by that point.

Thursday Adam, my dad, and I went to the Newseum (worth the money) and my mom went to our place with Nikki and Georgine. Later that night Adam and I went to the Brickskeller to try and pick one or two beers from the 1000 they have in stock. I had something English on cask and Adam had something from Rogue.

Friday we went to the National Zoo and had our most exhausting day. It was hot and Georgie was overdressed and we were all pretty tired. We wound up at our house for fajitas. Saturday we got to visit a little more before the three of them flew out.

I didn't take many pictures that week because the family photographer Adam was there. He has some good ones up here.
