So I made it all the way to Sheridan, WY. That's mostly bad, although my friend Marge will be happy to hear I'm here. I have basically done one day's drive in two days. That would be fine if the weather didn't look even worse tomorrow. I had to kind of push it to get this far, but I didn't really beat anything. Any route out of here is going to get snow tomorrow. I'm not going to beat anything anymore so I will just have to assess again in the morning. I am staying in one of those nice suite-type hotels and there is a mega-mart across the street, so I picked a good place to be stranded if it comes to that.
I spent the morning in Big Timber, where I had a nice breakfast at the Town Pump and read a book on Hutterites. Between Big Timber and Billings it was a little slick so I took frontage roads as much as possible. From Billings to Crow Agency it was clear and I actually got the car above 70 mph for a change. Then it got icy again, especially in the mountain pass near the border that I forgot existed. I was going to try to get to Casper, but my brain hurts.
I'm glad I'm here though -- the roads I took yesterday are now closed and Nikki is snowed in.

If you're going to be stuck somewhere, Sheridan is a good place to be. You were right as I am partial to it. I hope you don't get stranded again and that journey gets less perilous. We're worried about your travels.
