Georgie had a very big independence day today. She got up a little early - before 7:30 - and we all had breakfast tacos. Then, sensing the full day ahead, she promptly went back to sleep for a nap two hours later. At noon, the partiers started showing up. The group included Elizabeth and her boys, Graham and Dean, Georgie's honorary cousins. They all swam together, though Georgie got more enjoyment out of just watching the boys swim.
Then we all had a nice meal outside of burgers and dogs. Then I read Georgie "stories" from a promotional magazine that was free at the grocery store. She's not very picky.
We ended our night with another dip in the pool, this time accompanied by the grandparents. Georgie tricked them into getting in a kiddie pool and then got out and made them stay in. It was a nice sight. Georgie has gotten over any new-place jitters and was very content to play with whoever had the energy to play with her today. We were going to go see fireworks tonight but it's after 8pm and still over 100 degrees so we are just going to relax at home.
