This morning Georgie and I took an nice hike around
Theodore Roosevelt Island, an island park in the Potomac between Rosslyn and Georgetown/Foggy Bottom. The outer perimeter of the island is all swamp with a raised platform trail. By hiking through a swamp, we were able to turn a fairly pleasant day into a hot and humid one. But we had a blast. Once she gets into nature, Georgie gets very calm and introspective and babbles a lot. So I know it's having a positive impact on her and that we should take her on little hikes more often.

Probably the most Soviet-looking presidential statue you'll find in the U.S.

Nice advice for boys.

The memorial plaza has a nice fountain.

Which I let Georgie dip her feet in.

Which made her happy.

Then she spent quite a while loading her carrier up with gravel. Now she is going to nap and then we are going to the Lego store to buy her first set of Duplos.
