Happy President's Day

Yesterday we were driving back from IKEA and I thought, "Hey, why don't we go to Mount Vernon tomorrow." Only after I said it did I put two and two together and realize that we'd be going on Washington's Birthday. In the end we didn't go because either I am sick again or I never really got over what I had last week.

It was also Valentine's day weekend. Nikki got me The River Cottage Family Cookbook, a follow-up to the book Marge and Lance just got me. It's got simpler recipes and a lot of them are family-oriented activities, like making butter. It will be fun now and even more fun when Georgie can start participating.

I gave Nikki her present, a Roomba, a few weeks ago. So far we're pretty amazed with it. We have wood floors and it really makes them sparkle. Georgie likes it too and is not nearly as scared of it as I thought she would be.

Nikki took Georgie (and Rachelle and Milena) to Tysons Corner mall today. There is a large play area there. Apparently it was an absoulute madhouse. I was busy sleeping and watching the HBO John Adams miniseries. So I guess that counts as my Presidents' Day activity.

Georgie's current activity is eating blueberries and yogurt.
