We got in the car today and instead of going to Great Falls as planned, we decided to go to Helena. I've never been there and Nikki hasn't since she was a kid.
Our first stop was this children's re-sale shop. We bought a Thirsties all-in-one, some liners, and a used high chair.
Then we went for pizza. We had this barbacoa pizza that had barbacoa beef, peppers, and cilantro sour cream. It was great. Then we went across the street to shop at the local natural food store. After that we stopped at a good beer store (Topper's or something like that). I bought a mixed six-pack of Montana brews, careful not to get anything from Lewis & Clark Brewing Co. because we were going there next. From the latter I ended up getting a growler of the seasonal Mad Max IPA. It's nice and cloudy and had a lot of malt flavor to go along with the hops. Closest thing I've had to Mac and Jack's.
Finally it was so late that we decided to just spend the night. We got a very nice room at the Hampton Inn on a government rate. We made a run to Target and ended up getting Georgie some peas there. She tried them and liked them OK. She is on her last clean outfit (we didn't pack for overnight) so she got to eat in the buff. Then we let her play on the bed in her birthday suit for a while. We each got on one side of the bed and she thought it was the most hilarious thing she had ever seen.
