Road trip, day one

Well, Georgie survived her first full-day car trip with no problems.

In fact, most of the trip she either looked like the above or below pictures.

We made it to Portland at about 4:40 PM (PST). I feel like that's pretty good time, considering the presence of a 7-month old.

By the time we got to the hotel, Georgie was ready to crawl on some carpet.

Then Aunt Darla came, and Georgie seemed to remember her from 6 months ago.

Or maybe not. But before long they were crawling around on the carpet together. Uncle Steve came over soon after and we all had a great time catching up and listening to the debate. Georgie gave Uncle Steve a little of the stranger treatment but by the end of the evening all was well between them. We had free burgers (and Lucky Labrador IPA) for dinner. That was an unexpected benefit of staying at the Residence Inn. Tomorrow it's shopping and more Aunt Darla time.
