We're back

We're back from Helena and the goats are still alive and in the yard. The cats seem fine too and even got a present (new litter box) from Helena.

The drive back took only two hours -- much closer than I thought. Perhaps Helena could be a quick weekend shopping trip. Unlike Great Falls, they have a Costco. Other than the Costco, Helena mostly left us underwhelmed. We both thought it would be this old Gold Rush-feeling town. A little bit of downtown was like that but the rest was all shopping and housing developments. Plus everyone there had "the look" -- that is, the dress and style of people who made a lot of money in California, retired early, and came out here to the Last Best Place. Not bad people, but not exactly who I want to talk to.

This morning we had a free breakfast at the Hampton Inn. Then we went to Murdoch's farm/ranch store, where I finally found some mineral for the goats. It wasn't the Kaydets CLR that I had been looking for but a 'goat block'. It had good levels of copper and was only 9.99, so I thought it will do for now.

Then we went to Costco, where picking up milk and bagels turned into a $75 affair. Actually that's not bad considering the damage one can do at Costco. I also filled up the tank there for a whopping 3.39 a gallon -- must be October in an election year!

We weren't very good about taking pictures today, so nothing new to post. But Georgie did have her first meal in her new high chair this evening. I was napping but heard that it went really well.
