We've been getting our milk delivered to our doorstep for a few months now. We've been very happy with the service and have been wanting to check out the farm it comes from. It's near Frederick so first Georgie and I dropped Nikki off at a cafe there to work on school stuff. Then Georgie and I went and got ourselves into a traffic jam. The accident scene was strange: a car on its side and then a quarter mile later a bus with the back burnt out. It was almost like the bus caught fire and then the car swerved to avoid. Whatever happened, we were thankful it wasn't us and didn't mind so much the delay.

But we finally got there and saw the ladies in the milking parlor.

Georgie quickly figured out what was going on and made a
moo sound.

Then we went across the street to the calf stalls. Georgie wasn't sure about the loud calves (it was just before feeding time) but loved the chickens and turkey that we loitering in the shed. Last time she heard a rooster it made her cry but this time it didn't seem to bother her and she loved the gobbling turkey.

Then we went back to the farmstore and I bought Georgie her first ever ice cream cone. It was blackberry and very good.

Here are some cows being led back to pasture after milking.
After our ice cream we went back to the calves to participate in bottle feeding them. Their bottles weren't quite there yet so they were even ornrier than before. Here is one of them licking and nibbling Georgie. At first she liked it and then didn't.

And here's my arm holding a bottle out. I was going to try to help Georgie do this but she wasn't quite tall enough. She was very interested in watching anyway.

Then it's back to Frederick and back home!
