Georgie also liked to pull the 'hats' off the acorns.
Here, she's saying "shoe" (she likes to point out her shoes to people, for some reason; it's often the first thing she says to someone she meets).
We had been reading I Am A Bunny (with really neat illustrations by Richard Scarry, 1963) and there was a part about squirrels storing acorns, which gave us the idea for the acorn hunt. Here are some of the illustrations from the book (unfortunately I couldn't find the page about acorns online, and the right-hand page gets cut off in the blog....):
And finally, a photo from last night's trip to the park (a nearby one that we can walk to). When she first went to this park months ago (winter or spring sometime), we had to leave because she kept putting the mulch in her mouth. Now she can sit on the see-saw all by herself (and tells me to sit on the other side by saying "Mama" and pointing).
