Monday at the zoo

Monday morning we headed to the San Antonio Zoo -- the zoo of record as far as my childhood memories are concerned. They have a new butterfly enclosure that Georgie really liked.
Here she is considering an owl-eye camoflauged butterfly. She had a lot of fun chasing the butterflies around (nicely) and commenting on their colors. Also she told each one of them, "I see you."
They had these machines when I was a kid and I can't believe they still do. In fact, they seem to have even more of them. They are little miniature plastic factories that mold different animals while you watch and then spit them out still hot. Georgie wound up with four of the animals.

We found these tilapia (in their rare, unfilleted form) and Georgie and Grandpapa fed them.

Georgie pondering the presents Grandpapa got here, including some cool new shades.

What a cool butterfly she is looking at! It looks so big (it took me a while to find it because I was expecting it to be much smaller). I'd love to see a butterfly exhibit. So cute that she was saying, "I see you" to the butterflies. Adorable.
