I'm posting this a few days late ... and probably with lots of typos b/c I'm kinda tired now....
Georgie has changed so much in her sixth month! She can now sit unsupported (we propped the boppy pillow around her or sat right by her a month ago, and she sometimes toppled over). She also rocks back and forth when she's in the crawling position -- and now she can hold the crawling position for a while before her legs collapse. She also loves standing, holding on to a couch or a chair for support (with us near her) and trying to climb over things (like our legs and her Bumbo chair, which is more useful now as a gym than as a seat). She also figured out, at the beginning of Month 6, that SHE can shake and rattle things to make noise. She got very excited the first time she figured this out, and continues to love to shake things. She also went from trying to suck on the piano keys when she first was at my parents house to banging on the keys and then checking in with me to see that I heard it, too, and that I saw that she made that sound. I'll hopefully post some pictures of her at the piano soon. Oh, and she likes the piano better than the little electronic keyboard we got her.
She's also started babbling more -- mostly "m" sounds + vowels, some canonical babbling. And she continues to go through periods of happy shrieking.
She has been a lot more communicative with her kicking and arm-waving, too. She moves a lot and says "huh huh huh" and kind of pants when she's excited (like when she sees something she wants to look at ...). Oh, and we think she's practicing her laugh, too, with the "huh huh huh" sounds.
She likes to lay on her back and look up at her hands, while she slowly (or quickly) moves each finger, one at a time and one right after another.
She gets peek-a-boo now -- at least when people hide behind bigger objects like couches, or walls, but not as much if we just put something like fabric in front of our face to try with her.
At her last appoinment (when she was about 5-1/2 months old), the doctor said she was "very social." She still gets a little frightened when new people hold her, though; she screamed when our landlady tried to hold her. She seems to really enjoy interacting with people, though, and loves it when my mom does crazy stuff (moving her arms rapidly, throwing her head back and making noises). She also loves having conversations with my dad. We know she's going to love seeing Grandpapa, Nana, and Uncle Kevin again this weekend, too. My mom (totally unbiased...) says she's the most expressive baby she's seen.
