On the road, part 2

We've landed in Mishawaka, Indiana for the night. We're just east of South Bend and Notre Dame. We are drinking from a growler of INDIAna Pale Ale from Mishawaka Brewing Company. We also got food from there -- Grandpapa had a pulled pork sandwich and I had a ahi tuna salad. The cats are currently losing their minds exploring our hotel room, as they've been cooped up all day. Tomorrow we head for Sioux Falls and I guess then we can finally saw we are in the West. We'll hit Chicago within two hours then go through Wisconsin and Minnesota before that. Just to recap the order of states we are going through is: VA-MD-PA-OH-IN-IL-WI-MN-SD-WY-MT. That's 11 states, though it feels like cheating to count both VA and MD.

The longest part of the drive today was transversing the entire width of Ohio. Ohio is both bucolic and boring. I-80/90 has very little to see but farms. We could see Toledo in the distance but that was as close as we got to a city.

It's starting to sink in that I am not going to be driving down Rock Creek Park to work on Monday night. It's weird -- we've been planning this for months and now it feels really abrupt. Maybe it was the psycho way we exited our apartment, or maybe I just miss Georgie and Nikki. I can't wait to get to Montana and see what my new life is all about.
