Our 5th month with Georgie

What a fun girl. She's been enjoying playing more, now that she's a little better coordinated and can pick things up more easily. I got her a cloth ball that comes apart (hard to explain, a neat toy, though), and she loves watching it roll toward her. The big thing this month was sitting -- she can sit for a while unsupported. She's learned how to fall out of her Bumbo seat, too... She loves to sit on the contoured changing pad, holding on to one of the sides with one hand and playing (or chewing on) a toy. Like I mentioned in a previous post, she's also started reaching toward people she wants to hold her. I love this. It's so fun to see her expressing herself more and more. There's been more laughing this month, too. And within the past couple days, she's starting making noises with her lips by pursing them and blowing. She likes it when we imitate her doing that. She can support herself with her knees on the ground (rather than splayed to the side) for just a couple seconds. She's started extending her legs and digging her feet into the ground, moving just a tiny bit. She's also met some new people and got to know some others better -- Sue, our neighbors, Rachelle and Lubo and Milena, our landlady.

This is kind of rambly ....

We've been going outside a lot; it's been great weather here. Even when it's a little hotter, I can take her outside any time of day because there's always shade somewhere on our street. The only problem with outside is the mosquitoes that are close to our door. Now that she's better with using her hands, she's started picking the flowers when I show them to her (she did this last month, too, but she's more adept at it now) ... so now we look from a little more of a distance. But there are always some dried flowers in one of our neighbor's pots that she pulls. And she still loves pulling grass, and (somewhat similar) sitting on Aaron's shoulders and pulling his hair.
