Well we're finally all moved out. It's been a hectic 48 hours. Our landlady Colleen called me Thursday to ask if we were out yet because some one was moving in Friday. We got in quite an argument about this, because our termination letter said the 16th and I had told her that we'd be out the previous night. Anyway, I ended up talking to the person taking the apartment -- the nurse -- and she and I worked it out. But we basically had one person moving out while the other was moving in. Quite the Charlie Foxrot.
We ended up sending a lot of boxes through USPS. This might not normally be how people move but with what we had to move it worked fine. The car is comfortably full now. Nikki has quite a bit of her own cargo for the flight. I think those kind of hassles are so minimal because we both want to get to Montana so bad. I have to get myself in relax mode now so I can enjoy a three-day road trip across the country.
The real hero of the move-out is my dad. He came a few days early and has been so helpful every second that he's been here. Thursday and yesterday morning he took Georgie on innumerable walks around the neighborhood while Nikki and I worked. Then yesterday afternoon he sent Nikki and Georgie to his friends' house in Virginia (whence I write this) and spent the rest of the afternoon and evening helping me ship boxes and clean. Not what he was probably expecting in a vacation. Thanks Dad! First McDonald's road meal is on me!

I'm so jealous! Wish I was there.
I once moved almost entirely via USPS and UPS. Its actually not a terrible way to move if you're light enough on stuff to do it!
