Road trip, part 4

We're in southwestern Minnesota now. We have a little under two hours to go until Sioux Falls, our stop for the night. We've crossed the Mississippi and are now officially in the Western U.S.

The big discovery of the day was a bottle of New Glarus Belgian Red Cherry Ale. This beer is famous among beer geeks, either in spite of or because of the fact that it's only available in Wisconsin. We found some at the first place inside the border we stopped. When I opened the case to get it out and knocked over a chain on the refrigerator door. Tne woman at the counter looked at me like I was a degenerate and explained that I couldn't buy beer until noon on Sundays. Crap. It was only like 9 o'clock. We quickly calculated that we would still be in Wisconsin at noon though. And sure enough, the place we stopped in Tomah carried it as well.

We just passed Blue Earth, MN, which led me to find out where the Jayhawks got that name for their first album.

Tonight we'll get in a little early and have a relaxing night before our longest day tomorrow.
